Spider-Man: Brand New Day Crosses 1 Billion Views — An Achievement No Other Trailer Has Managed

by admin477351

The trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has achieved what no other movie trailer has in the entire history of cinema — crossing one billion views. Sony released the trailer on March 17, and just four days later, it had done something unprecedented. Tom Holland’s ongoing legacy as Spider-Man has taken another monumental leap forward even before the film’s release.

Context makes the achievement even more staggering. Deadpool & Wolverine had thrilled industry insiders in February 2024 with 365 million views on its first day following a Super Bowl premiere. That had narrowly beaten Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s 355.5 million. And the video game world’s biggest trailer debut — Grand Theft Auto VI at 475 million — had set a cross-platform standard. Brand New Day collected 718.6 million views in 24 hours, passing all of them.

WaveMetrix confirmed the total at 1.1 billion by Tuesday, a number unprecedented in trailer history. The billion-view milestone is now a Spider-Man exclusive, as no other franchise has come remotely close. Marketing and analytics professionals are calling it a watershed moment for how studios understand global audience engagement.

At the core of the record-breaking trailer is a story that viewers clearly connected with on a deep level. Peter Parker, four years after being erased from the memories of everyone he loves, continues to be a hero in a world that doesn’t know his name. His tentative alliance with Bruce Banner/Hulk and his battle against a new and unnamed threat give the film enormous dramatic potential.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film releases July 31. It stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo. Indian audiences will be able to watch it in six languages across all premium formats.
