HAKONE, JAPAN – Hotel Okura has announced plans to open Okura Resort Hakone Gora in 2029, marking the company’s first resort property in Japan. Located in Hakone, one of the nation’s most prestigious hot spring destinations, the resort is designed to offer a highly private and refined guest experience.
The property will feature 58 guest rooms, each equipped with a private outdoor hot spring bath supplied with authentic Owakudani thermal water. This approach allows guests to enjoy traditional onsen bathing in complete privacy without the use of shared facilities.
The resort’s architectural and interior design follows a “Forest Hideaway” concept created by award-winning designer Gwenael Nicolas, integrating natural materials with contemporary luxury. Additional amenities will include premium teppanyaki dining and Hotel Okura’s renowned service standards.
This opening underscores Hotel Okura’s confidence in the continued growth of Japan’s domestic luxury travel market.
