House prices in Italy experienced a 4% increase in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year, according to national statistics. This marks a deceleration from the 5.1% growth observed in the first quarter, highlighting a cooling trend in the real estate market.
Turin led the surge among major Italian cities, with an impressive 8.5% rise in house prices year-on-year. This growth was a significant uptick from the city’s 3.8% increase in the first quarter, indicating a strong demand in the region.
In Rome, the housing market showed robust activity with a 6.4% annual increase, up from the 5.5% growth recorded in the previous quarter. The capital’s property market continues to attract buyers, contributing to its steady price appreciation.
Milan, however, saw a notable slowdown, with house prices rising only 2.4% year-on-year. This is a sharp contrast to the 7.1% increase the city experienced in the first quarter, suggesting a potential stabilization in its real estate market after a period of rapid growth.
